Any advantage to upgrading to WordPress 2.2?

(I see it is named after a tenor sax player.  I played tenor sax in the band in school.)

    Actually Wordpress 2.2 is a mandatory upgrade due to security issue in
    WP 2.1. There are also hundreds of bug fixes and atom 1.0 support.

    Hi Jenny,

    Just found your blog a week or so ago and keep meaning (and failing) to comment. Finally getting around to it, and so will incorporate one on-topic and several off-topic remarks in this one:

    1) 2.2 contains over 200 bugfixes, so that alone is reason to upgrade;

    2) As another person of a certain age/gender with an atypical interest in the ACW, I was happy to discover both your blog and A.P. Hill site (although as a Louisianian my interest lies in the much-neglected Trans-Mississippi);

    3) Are you using WP to power the AP Hill site? If so, may I ask how you’re structuring the site - are you solely using static pages to display content? Also, any plans to release ‘minimalist Confederate gray’ as a WP theme? I have a staff ride I wrote for the Battle of Baton Rouge I’d like to put online, and am considering the best way to present it.

    4) I just wanted to say that your post describing your hair as ‘…the remaining troops holding the picket lines are as doomed as Custer’s men at the Little Bighorn” was one of the most evocative sentences I’ve ever read, online or off.

    Best wishes, Cena M.

    Thanks for the replies!

    I probably can’t upgrade to the new version today, but I will do so ASAP. It sounds like upgrading is mucho important, but I want to make sure I make a good back up copy of the database this time!

    Cena, my A.P. Hill site is just actually made up of XHTML static pages. I have no clue how to create a Word Press theme :) — I could figure it out I am sure but I am demotivated right now — but if you want to use elements of “Minimalist Confederate Gray,” you have my permission to do so. Send me a link to the Baton Rouge site and I’d be happy to give you some press here (it wouldn’t be a lot of press, but a FEW people read this blog!). Its good to hear from another atypical Civil War history fan.
