
118th Pennsylvania Infantry
Nicknamed the Corn Exchange Regiment, the 118th Pennsylvania was raised in Philadelphia in the summer of 1862. Their commander at Gettysburg was Lt. Col. James Gwyn (1828-1906), an Irish born merchant.
The regiment numbered 332 at Gettysburg and suffered about 25 causalties.
The main monument is off of Sickles Avenue at the loop. It depicts a granite staute of a soldier. Another monument is present on Big Round Top, and a third marker is located on the Wheatfield Road.
