Behind the Scenes – Pipeline
Posted to the Project on 30 Nov 08
Just a few words about what’s in the pipeline for the monument project.
First of all, I have just about completed photographing all the “main” regimental monuments. The only ones I have left are the ones on Lost Lane (Neill’s Brigade) and the 1st U.S. Cavalry (not sure why I missed that one, but I did). I’ve completed all the write ups, and the units are in the queue to publish with those exceptions. I’m hoping perhaps in the spring to get up to Lost Lane and finish off that …
I’ve also prepared posts for each brigade, division, and corps in the Army of the Potomac and the Army of Northern Virginia. These posts will feature each unit’s tablet — text and modern day photograph with location. I’ll be in the process of photographing the various tablets over the winter and spring trips and they will start to publish the tablets unit by unit a day at a time at the end of December.
I’ve also done a lot of behind the scenes work tagging posts. The Master AOP list is done — please check it out! You can now see all monuments say by brigade or division. The one for the Army of Northern Virginia is also done, but as I haven’t published anything officially tagged with the ANV units yet, I won’t post the page publically yet as all it will do is take you to a bunch of 404-errors until the posts actually go live on the blog.
I will also continue to periodically post photo-studies and anything else of interest. If you have any comments on what you’d like to see, what would make the site easier to navigate, please feel free to leave me a message. I can’t guarantee I can do anything, but I will give it consideration!

Jenny,
Have you ever thought of publishing any of your pictures? I have a few books of the Civil War in pictures, and your pictures seem to be high enough quality that you could do that.
I have been to Gettysburg several times and still haven’t seen it all. And I really love seeing one of your pictures and thinking, “I remember that.”
Two things Jenny:
1) I agree with the post above, both your Gettysburg, and especially your bird photographs!
2) You have done an absolutely amazing job with this site; please know how much this guy from “away” appreciates being able to travel via your website.
Cheers
Ed
Good to know the site is useful and enjoyed. :) Makes it worth the time spent on it. :)
I spent a good two days on the tablets this weekend. Will be plenty of new posts over the next several months. :)
