About this List

This list is my “master” index listing of all the monuments on the Gettysburg Battlefield. As a starting point, I used the extensive list compiled by Bob Myers (the list appears to have been removed as a download from his website, however). I have corrected misspellings and what I considered to be omissions in his list. Where a profile is available for a monument, the title of the monument is a hyperlink that can be opened to go to the respective page.

For purpose of making the list easier to use and maintain, it has been broken down into eight separate tables based on area of the battlefield. Choose the area of the battlefield you would like to explore below.

First Day Battlefield. The area north and west and including the town of Gettysburg. Includes Buford Avenue, Carlisle Street, Chambersburg Pike, North Confederate Avenue, Coster Avenue, Doubleday Avenue, East and West Howard Avenues, Jones Artillery Avenue, Meredith Avenue, Reynolds Avenue, Robinson Avenue, Stone Avenue, Stratton Street, and Wadsworth Avenue.

Second Day Battlefield – North. The Second Day battlefield located north of the Wheatfield Road and south of Pleasanton Avenue. Includes the Emmitsburg Road, South Hancock Avenue, Sedgwick Avenue, Sickles Avenue (Excelsior Field), United States Avenue, and the Wheatfield Road.

Second Day Battlefield – South. The Second Day battlefield roads that are located to the south of the Wheatfield Road. Includes Ayres Avenue, Brooke Avenue, Crawford Avenue, Cross Avenue, De Trobriand Avenue, Howe Avenue, Sickles Avenue (the Loop and Devil’s Den), Sykes Avenue, Warren Avenue, and Wright Avenue.

The Angle Area. Includes the Bliss Farm, North Hancock Avenue, Hunt Avenue, Pleasanton Avenue, and the Taneytown Road.

Culp’s and Cemetery Hills. Includes the Baltimore Pike, Carman Avenue, Colgrove Avenue, East Confederate Avenue, Geary Avenue, the National Cemetery, North and South Slocum Avenue, and Wainwright Avenue.

East Cavalry, Wolf Hill, Benners Hill, and Powers Hill. Includes Granite Schoolhouse Lane, Gregg Avenue, Hanover Road, Highland Avenue, Low Dutch Road, and Neill Avenue.

West and South Confederate Avenues. West and South Confederate Avenue, including the South Cavalry Battlefield. Includes Berdan (Sharpshooter) Avenue, West Confederate Avenue, South Confederate Avenue, and the Slyder Farm.

Outlying Areas. Areas located outside the National Military Park proper. Includes Cashtown, Emmitsburg, Fairfield, Goulden Road, Hanover Road, Hospital Road, Hunterstown, Littlestown, Manchester, Middleburg, Ortanna, Taneytown, Two Taverns, Westminster, the York Pike, and Frederick.
