The 12th Corps, 1st Division, 3rd Brigade was also known as Ruger’s Brigade. During the battle of Gettysburg, it served as a member of Williams’ Division in the Twelfth Corps, Army of the Potomac. About the Main Monument When was it dedicated? Erected circa 1912. What is it made out of? Foundation: Concrete. Monument: Polished smooth sea-green granite. Plaque: Bronze. What size is it? 36′ by 36′ base. Weight: 300 Pounds. Height 5’4″. Tablet measures 4 feet by 3 feet 8 inches. Who made it? Albert Russell & Sons Co. of Newburyport, Massachusetts. Erected by the United States War Department. What does it depict? Monolith consisting of polished smooth sea-green granite pedestal with a square base. The One Hundred Seventh New York Infantry is honored by a monument at Gettysburg. About the Main Monument When was it dedicated? Sept. 17, 1888. What is it made out of? Quincy granite with bronze relief. What size is it? Approx. 15 ft. 1 in. x 6 ft. 4 in. x 6 ft. 4 in. Who made it? A. W. Ayres & Son, fabricator. What does it depict? Rectangular columnic monument with an ornate cap stands on a tiered base. A tondo with a relief of the New York State Seal is affixed to the upper front of the monument. Monument is a multi-part granite shaft, stepped to a smooth cut taper that is topped with an articulated eave and capped with a cross gable and pyramidal top. The Thirteenth New Jersey Infantry is honored by a monument and a position stone at Gettysburg. About the Main Monument When was it dedicated? Installed ca. 1887. Dedicated June 29, 1887 or July 1, 1887. What is it made out of? Sculpture: granite; Base: granite. What size is it? Overall: approx. 12 ft. 8 in. x 5 ft. 10 in. x 3 ft. 4 in. Who made it? Smith Granite Company, fabricator. What does it depict? The monument cost $2,000.00 and was designed by members of the regiment. Sculpture: rough-hewn granite with bronze tablets; Base: rough-hewn granite. What size is it? Sculpture: approx. 3 ft. x 4 ft. x 21 in.; Base: approx. 13 x 53 x 19 in. Who made it? Joshua Happolo (Firm), fabricator. What does it depict? Monument is a monolithic granite shaft of rough cut and tooled edges with a tapered toothed top, and set on a four foot square rough cut base with a tooled edge. It has inset bronze inscription tablets. Overall height is 3.9 feet. Flanking markers are 1.6x.8 foot. It was the first regimental monument erected on the Gettysburg battlefield.
