Monument to the state of Arkansas at Gettysburg. About the Main Monument When was it dedicated? Installed 1966. Dedicated June 18, 1966. What is it made out of? Sculpture: Mt. Airy granite and aluminum cubes. What size is it? Sculpture: approx. H. 8 ft. 6 in. x L. 20 ft. x W. 8 ft.; Cubes: 2 x 2 ft. Who made it? Cobb Memorials, fabricator. Reynolds Metal Company, founder. What does it depict? Granite marker with carved outline of the State of Arkansas and text in center, flanked by grouping of soldiers on either side. The monument stands atop a three-stepped platform with four cast aluminum cubes with etchings of the Confederate battle flag positioned at each corner of the lower step.
